Well, if any of the forum members wants it, PM me with there email address and I will try to get it out to them.

What is fastCMS?

FastCMS is a simple Content Management System writen in PHP and Javascript for Quick-and-dirty remote updating of a website.

Features Include:

  • Password protection
  • E-mail notification for failed login atempts
  • Plain-text editing
  • WYSIWYG editing

not much right now.. but more to come ^_^

Basicly I just made it as a way to edit my site remotely, originaly it didn't have WYSIWYG as seen on my php scripts page, but I knew someone that needes WYSIWYG for a client, so I incorperated that...

Right now I need some ideas, testers, and some PHP/Javascript devolpers to help me improve this thing

Josh

Note: This is a different script than the one on my php scripts page.. this is its big brother, that is far from done...

Basicly the main problem, is I can not keep WYSIWYG editing, and still let it edit php files, as all the editors I have found, reformat the code, deleting the PHP! So, I am guessing I will have to use plain text editing, with optional WYSIYG, but I am not sure.

Release Version: 1.2

Bugs Fixed:

  • MAJOR: Template editor would render the site useless
  • MAJOR: WYSIWYG editor would not read the whole file
  • MAJOR: Control Panel caused an error with password protection
  • MAJOR: Template editor would sometimes produce a php error

Whats New:

  • New design, more eye candy
  • Better template editor
  • New template coding

I told you this is very buggy.. but I seem to have all the major bugs squashed, I still need to do some more testing and coding.. but I should have this ready here before too long

This is actually my first multi-file script, all the others where simple one file scripts.. so this is a big thing for me!

I don't care who makes a WYSIWYG editor....hand-coded site have the best coding BY FAR. It's more difficult, but it gives you better pages in the end.

Even thought he's right
I still think that everyone that wants a website, yet doesn't have the skills, should have a CMS, Josh, now that you have developed a forum, integrate your CMS with it, make a few more things, and bam, you're on your way to making a FlatFile CMS, heh, first one I ever saw.

That's what just popped in my head at least! clap

I'd be interested in testing out the new version of the cms and helping out where needed...

Mine is coming along (slowly) as I code the different classes and functions that form the foundation for all the other components, so there is not much to show off right now...

you can check out my cms at http://pmosborne.dotgeek.org/ . Mine is in php5 and powered by sqlite so it won't run on most servers till they update to php5 (might be a little while).

Well, I haven't really been working on it much.. so its still kinda under-developed.
